Friends of Calverley
The Friends of Calverley CE Primary School (formerly the PTA) plays an active role in supporting the school through its fundraising events and initiatives. Over the past 30 years the Friends have helped to raise thousands of pounds to purchase equipment and teaching resources, such as computers in classrooms, sports equipment including the fantastic adventure playground and interactive whiteboards.
What is our aim?
Our aim is to advance the education of pupils in the school by:
- Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school
- Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils
How do we do this?
We organise events throughout the year which are supported by parents and carers, children, the staff and the local community. Some of our recent events include the Christmas Shopping Evening, book sales, discos, fashion shows and the Spring Fayre. We also support school events such as sports day and the new parents meeting.

Who are our members?
All parents and carers are automatically members of the ‘Friends Association’ along with current school. The Friends also has a Committee which helps to provide a structure to the Friends group and makes decisions about how which fundraisers will take place and how the money might be spent.
We also have a Facebook site which is only accessible by parents.

Friends Website – new way for information, to buy tickets and volunteer
To try and improve the way everyone is kept in the loop re Friends events and to make it as easy as possible to pay for tickets and to plan and volunteer, we have created our own website. All planned events are now on there and most importantly DISCO TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE!
To use the website there are just a couple of easy steps you need to follow. Its very mobile friendly too, so easy to do on phones, anywhere.
Click on Log In. Click to Register and enter your details. Next under My account, select Class Mailing List and click to add child to the class. To add a child to a class you need a password which is set to the surname of the teacher (beginning with a capital letter).
Once you are signed and your child/ren registered you will be able to purchase disco tickets, paying online or sign up help with any of the tasks shown against each event.
